Medet Ya Seyyidi Ya Sultanul Awliya, Medet.

Alhamdulillahi rabbil alameen. Shukr Ya Rabbi. Astaghfirullah,
astaghfirullah, astaghfirullahi wa atubu ilaih. We are asking our Lord
Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) to forgive us our shortcomings and make us
to become better servants. We are living in the Ahir of the Ahir
Zaman, the end of the times. Holy Prophet (alayhi salatu wa salam) is
saying, “When you reach to those days (you will see that) there will
be no peace anywhere. There will be confusion everywhere, in the east,
west, north and south. There will be very few people trying to stay on
the Sirat-ul Mustaqim and the majority of the people will be following
their ego’s desires and they will run after worldly activities only.
Everything is going to turn bad and dirty.” That’s what happened today
everywhere, from mankind, to the air, to the water and to the land.
The children of Adam have destroyed everything. It is the secret that
Holy Prophet (sws) is saying, “There will be no clean areas to live.”
No clean air and no clean water. The seas and the oceans are getting
dirty. From the air to the land, everywhere. But the worst is man. The
inside of man turned so bad that when you are speaking to them
something good they are looking at you like you have lost your mind.
Alhamdulillah.

It doesn’t matter how the world is living. We are responsible for our
own selves. If there would be nothing in this world, nothing,
everything is gone, no holy ones and no believers at all and you are
the only one living, then the Shahadat is enough to keep you in the
Sirat-ul Mustaqim. Giving the Shahadat, reminding yourself, purifying
yourself and waiting, waiting for our time and preparing for our
original place from where we came. It is only temporary here. One day
you are good, next day you are bad, the following day you are sick,
the following day you are feeling strong and three days later you are
feeling weak. That’s how it’s going to go in this world. What is
important is how we are going to the other side and what we are taking
with us. If you are able to take that Shahadat with you by saving that
Shahadat, keeping it clean and bringing it to the other side then you
are the winner. If man is not going to the other side with the
Shahadat, with the Kalima-e tawhid, then he is in big trouble. The
trouble of dunya is nothing then. The trouble of dunya becomes like
Paradise for those who are going to the other side without taking the
station of real man, real human, Insan-i Kamil. The whole meaning of
life is to make us become Insan-i Kamil, the perfect one and to go to
the other side clean. The angels are asking how you came there. Have
you taken that secret or not. What are you going to say?

This is the most important worry the believers must have. If you are
worrying with this then all other things will come along easy because
you have a bigger worry. You are worrying. And don’t think that today
you are good, you are in Sirat-ul Mustaqim, and it’s guaranteed to us.
No. It’s guaranteed to us as much as we force ourselves on that way.
The day that you leave, you fly away. So many came and so many are
gone. Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) is ordering us to keep His Orders
until the last breath. Not to think that one day we are going to reach
to some station and then whatever we do is going to be okay. No. We
have to always search ourselves, we have to look at ourselves, we have
to question ourselves what we are doing, how we are doing, how we are
living and whether we are progressing or we are going backwards. We
must question, we must look, we must calculate, we must account
ourselves and our deeds before we are coming to the accounting place.
We must have it ready for ourselves. When we have it ready then we may
look, see and say, “Yes, I did this but I didn’t do this. I must work
on this part. I finished this part but I didn’t finish this part. I
must work on this one.”

So Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) is saying to us, “If you are living with
the knowledge that you know, (you have learned a knowledge and if you
are living according to that knowledge) then Allah will teach you the
knowledge that you don’t know.” If we are calculating, accounting and
looking at ourselves to see how we are living and what we are doing in
our daily activities then we may find the wrong things that we are
doing, which doesn’t look wrong to us, but in reality in the Divine
Presence it’s wrong. So we must force ourselves to live according to
that. Otherwise, there are two doors. One is the door of mercy, the
door of Rahmat and the other one is the door of curse. Allah is not
putting us there but mankind is insisting and running to that door. A
simple way to be able to stay at the door of mercy is to be always
happy with what Allah has given, saying, “Alhamdulillah Ya Rabbi! What
you have given to me is the best.” Being a thankful servant. If you
are being a thankful servant then you never turn to the door of curse,
the door of complaints. The only people standing at the door of mercy
are those who are pleased with their Lord and at the door of curse are
those ones who are complaining. If you are finding any complaints then
finish it. When you are about to complain of something then look at
the someone who is worse than you and be happy. No need to complain.
The One who has given us everything liked it and that’s the way He
gave it to us. If there is some good happening through us then know
that it is a Rahmat and mercy from our Lord. If there are bad things
happening to us then know that it is from our ego. We did something
wrong somewhere. Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) does not punish His
servants unless the servant runs and stands where the curse is
waiting. He is saying to us where we are supposed to be, where we are
supposed to spend our life and how we are supposed to live. He sent
His Prophet (sws) to teach us. If we are following that Prophet (sws)
then we are finding the life becoming very easy in every condition.
Nobody should think that the life is going to be any harder than what
happened to the Holy Prophet (sws) and the Sahaba-e Kiram. They lived
in the worst time and the worst creatures were attacking them. They
were at the door of mercy and thankfulness until the time came to them
and they passed from this world.

We today alhamdulillah are not going through that much hardship.
Although everything is so bad around but still we are not going
through hardship like that. Our life is easy. We must be thankful ones
and we must stand at the door of thankfulness and not open the door of
complaint.

Medet Ya Seyyidi Sultanul Awliya Medet.

We are asking medet inshaAllah ar-Rahman from our Sheykh to send us
something to speak that will benefit us, that will benefit me, you and
everyone who listens. We are not good for anything. If they don’t send
then we cannot speak. What we speak is for ourselves and for those
people who are running to find true ways and to live the way of Islam,
the way of Truth. This sohbet is for anyone who is thirsty for that.
If it’s not then everyone should run to live as they like until the
angel of death will come. After that no `as you like’. As He likes.
After the angel of death comes we will all understand. Those who were
before us all understand now. But it’s too late for some of them.
Those who were living and trying to correct themselves in this life
should not worry and those who are trying now should not worry too.
Allah is the Most Merciful and the Most Beneficent.

The whole mankind today, from east, west, north and south lost the
direction, lost the compass. It doesn’t know which side to go anymore
and so much problems, miseries and pains and man is running for all
kinds of things that the children of Adam has not been created for and
staying under the curse and not collecting what is coming for them.
The mercy of Allah is raining but they are running to the areas where
the curse is raining. For that the whole mankind lost the direction,
exception is some handful of people (such as) here and some others in
the world. But the general (masses) lost the compass. They lost the
direction. Nobody is controlling the wheel except Sheytan driving
towards Jahannam. Our Grandsheykh is saying, “This Sheytan is sitting
on a big truck and that truck has a very powerful engine. So many
people are behind that truck and Sheytan is driving the truck into the
ocean or over a cliff, ready to fall down.” Our Sheykh is saying, “We
(the Awliya, him and so many like him, there are 124,000) are trying
to hold the truck from behind not to go down the cliff, not to go down
to the ocean but the physical power that the truck is carrying is
pulling every one of us together. So we have to know where to let it
go.” And they are screaming to those who want safety saying, “Jump
down from the truck! Otherwise, the end is deep, going down.” Jumping
down from the truck means turning back to the laws of Islam. There is
no other way. Leave the ego ways, leave the ways of other teachings,
other kinds of governmental teachings (let’s put it that way), or from
studying in schools that are saying to you, “Enjoy yourself.” There is
nothing to enjoy in this world. We have not been created to run after
to try to enjoy ourselves. Enjoyment is in the hereafter. And we must
have discipline to be able to accept the laws of Islam, to put it on
ourselves and to start benefiting. All those laws and everything are
to teach us to reach to the highest stations anyway, to become Insan-i
Kamil, the most perfect one. So it’s teaching us slowly how to have
better discipline, how to have better Adab, better manners.

Islam first put laws saying, “Forbidden things. Halal and Haram.”
Haram and Halal, that is, what is for us and what is not for us to
have, to eat, to drink and to enjoy. All nations today, Muslim
countries too, removed the laws of Allah. They put their own laws.
Man’s laws. Then later they are saying, “Oh, we are not interfering
into religion. Leave as you like.” But they are not even leaving that.
They are interfering into religion all the time. It’s okay in a
country to go to open bars, clubs, discotheques and all kinds of wrong
places. The government gives them license saying, “These are the
borderlines. Live according to that and enjoy as much as you want
inside that room. Go crazy if you want. Don’t bring it out. Drink as
much as you want. But if you are too drunk then don’t drive your car.
Let somebody bring you home.” This is what the governments are saying
to people, some governments, especially in the Middle East. And it’s
okay. It’s not illegal. That’s legal. You can have bars, you can have
clubs and you can have all kinds of things that are speaking only for
ego. It’s okay. When you go to those governments to get a license
saying, “I accept your secular way also. Let me live according to my
religion inside the secular way. I am asking you to give me license to
open a dergah and to have ten people, fifteen people, fifty people or
a hundred people in the dergah to say `Allah’. We don’t like to go to
bars, clubs and discotheques to go crazy drinking and getting all
these wrong things. We would like to come together in this place to
say `Allah’ and to jump up and down.” Now you are finding all
governments saying, “No! We are not giving you permission to do that.”
Hmm. So you give permission to a man to have the microphone in his
hand… some are not even men that are appearing on television. They
look like men but they are not. Some look like women but they are
almost naked, appearing on television singing, dancing and making
people to admire them, to run after them, on state-run televisions and
permission is given to all those wrong things, but they are not giving
permission to believers to remember their Lord in their own houses.
How are you expecting your government to stand up for a long time? No
police government ever lived more than a hundred years. In a hundred
years time it came down. History is showing, from the time of Firaun
and Namrud to everyone. Meaning, oppressor governments who were
pushing people didn’t live for long. All these ones are not going to
live for long too now.

Ya hu, don’t you see? You go to an university and the university has
laws saying to you, “You have to come to school at this time, you have
to enter to the class at this time, at this time you are going to
study, at this time you are going to sleep, at this time you are going
to eat, at this time you are going to do that and at this time you are
going to do this.” Everything has their laws. But when it comes to
religion they don’t want any laws, they don’t want anybody to bother
them and they say, “Live your religion by yourself.”

(You say,) “Let’s have ten people together.”

They say, “No! By yourselves.”

And Allah is saying, “Become Jamat.” So that’s how those governments
are really favoring and letting religion live among the people.

Alhamdulillah, in America we still have the freedom to live the
religion that way. That’s why the Awliya Allah are supporting it. They
are not supporting the government or the President. They are
supporting this government because they are still leaving people to
live their own religion the way that their Prophet left to them. They
are not oppressing them. That’s why the Awliya Allah are praying and
so many people are taking the Awliya Allah’s praising (let’s say) to
America or Great Britain and they are thinking that the Awliya Allah
are concentrating on that individual whoever is the President for that
time or whichever the party is in that time. They are thinking that
the Awliya Allah are taking the sides of parties, Republics or
Democrats or whatever more there is. That also shows how close they
are and how much they are understanding the teachings of the Awliya
Allah. They are definitely supporting this country because we can
still sit here and pray as we think our Holy Prophet (alayhi salatu wa
salam) left to us and they are not coming to bother us. That’s why
they are blessed. But you cannot do that in any Muslim country today.
Not in Turkey, not in Egypt, not in Morocco, not in Syria, not in
Saudi Arabia, not in Iraq, not in Iran, not in Uzbekistan and not in
any country.

They are claiming that they are Muslims and they are living according
to Islam. According to what Islam? The Islam that you have invented
according to what fits to your ego? Or the Islam that the Holy Prophet
(alayhi salatu wa salam) came to teach us? That kind of Islam? Or the
kind of Islam that you have invented according to your own ego? Yes,
they are living the kind of Islam that fits to their ego. That’s why
they don’t have the laws of Allah. They removed the laws of Allah and
they put the laws of man and they are screaming that there are
terrorists everywhere. Of course. It’s not working. Your laws are not
working. Put the laws of Allah back on and look how fast it’s going to
work. We say to them, “You tried everything. For almost a hundred
years you tried everything from Communism, to Fascism, to dictator
regimes, to everything. Why not take Islam and try Islam again too a
little bit to see what’s going to happen.” As soon as you say to them
`Islam’ they start shivering, saying, “These terrorists are coming.”
Terrorists? If it was up to the Muslims they would not even take a gun
in their hand. It’s only to protect themselves. Nothing else. And the
Sufis never went fighting with any governments too. But when they were
under the ruling of the Empire and under the ruling of the Khalifah,
they were the first soldiers, always in the front lines. Yes, the
Sufis, because they were fighting and defending for the sake of Allah.
So they were running in the front lines. But after the Khilafat came
down nowhere will you find the Sufis uprising and fighting. No. Until
they came and they approached them here and there in different
countries, in Afghanistan and in Chechenistan, and some small groups
of people are standing up, alhamdulillahi rabbil alameen. But the
majority among them also turned into the wrong areas and they started
adopting and taking some teachings of the Wahhabis and they started
becoming tyrants.

And I am surprised to hear today from the Muslims that they are
supporting and they are saying, “We must have nuclear bombs. The
Muslim governments must have nuclear bombs.” Let me ask you, what are
you going to do with that nuclear bomb? Do you think having nuclear
bombs will stop those oppressors on you? It’s their weapon. They are
going to find something else on you again. So if you have the nuclear
bomb then what are you going to do? Are you going to use it on
America? Or are you going to use it on Russia? Or China? Or Israel (as
they are running non-stop and declaring)? As soon as America gives
ultimatum to one country, right away they say, “We are going to hit
Israel.” What’s going to happen when you hit Israel? When you are
hitting Israel you are going to hit Lebanon, Jordan and all Muslims
countries there too. And half of Israel is Muslims inside. Muslim
people are living inside there too. Do you think the atomic bomb is
going to separate saying, “This is Muslim and this is not Muslim”? How
foolish the Muslims became! And what kind of a war is it then that it
is a disgrace to mankind to have such a bad weapon. Even the Generals
in America never liked to have that option because they are men with a
vision understanding the warfare, and understanding, “This is
something very dirty.” They don’t want that. You are burning
everything, man, animals and everything in it. What kind of
understanding of Islam do these people have?

Islam is saying to you that if you have a ship at the shore and there
are a thousand people there where nine hundred and ninety-nine of them
have been found guilty by the court of Islam and they are going to
have death penalty, every one of them. They are escaping from that
country and nine hundred and ninety-nine people who are in that ship
are guilty and they have death penalties on them. There is only one
person in that ship who is not guilty but he is just caught up with
them there. You cannot sink that ship because there is one innocent
sitting among those nine hundred and ninety-nine of them. As man you
cannot sink that ship. If Allah wants He is going to do something. But
you cannot sink that ship. Allah is not giving permission to Muslims
then, saying, “Let that ship go. Think of some other ways to stop that
ship.” You cannot kill every one of them because there is one
innocent, even though nine hundred and ninety-nine of them have death
penalties on them. This is the Islam that Holy Prophet (sws) brought
to us and if anybody is trying to get something other than that then
they are never going to reach anywhere again. They are leaving the
way, they are running away, they are deviating from the ways of the
Holy Prophet (alayhi salatu wa salam) and they are screaming saying,
“We need help. We need help Ya Rabbbi!” Allah is saying to us, “You
need help? Hold on tightly to that Prophet. Then help will reach to
you. If you are not holding on tightly to My Prophet then no help is
reaching to you.”

Wa min Allahu taufiq.

InshaAllah ar-Rahman this much is enough for you and for me.

La hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil aliyyil azim
Hasbinallah wa ni’mal wakeel

Medet Ya Seyyidi Sultanul Awliya, Medet.

Let’s renew our faith saying: Ash-hadu an la ilaha ilallah wa ash-hadu
anna muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluhu sallallahu ta’ala wa alihi wa
ashabihi wa sallim. All praising is to our Lord Allah (subhana wa
ta’ala) and to the Holy Prophet (alayhi salatu wa salam), the most
beloved one in the Divine Presence. If you love that one then you find
safety. Safety is to love the ones that Allah loves and to leave the
ones that Allah leaves. If you are loving the ones that Allah loves
and you are also running to love those who are leaving Allah and His
Prophet (sws) then something is wrong with you. Something is wrong
somewhere. But it is not something small. It’s very big. Very big
because all secrets are to know how to love and who to love. All the
worship and everything that we are doing, you can do it until Judgment
Day. What is it? Where does it fit? Do we think that anyone here,
including me, what we are worshiping and what we are doing is fitting
to our Lord Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) to say, “Ya Rabbi, we are
presenting this worship to You.” Does it fit? No.

Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) asked Hazrat Musa (as), Kalimullah, Nabi-e
Mursal, one of the big prophets that was given a Book. Allah is
teaching a lesson to people by speaking to His Prophet, saying to him,
“What have you done for me Ya Musa?”

He said, “I worship.”

He said, “That is for you. In the Judgment Day you are going to find
that.”

He said, “I fast.”

“That is also for you.”

“I did Hajj.”

“That is also for you.”

“I give charity, Zakat.”

“That is also for you. What did you do for Me?”

He said, “Ya Rabbi, I don’t know what to do for You.”

He said, “Love the ones that I love and leave the ones that I leave.
Love the ones that I love and hate the ones that I hate.”

If anybody has any love to the cursed one who was kicked away from the
Divine Presence then they are in big trouble. All worship that you are
doing then is sinking, going into the hole. It is obligation (farz)
for a man to love Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) and it is wajib for a man
to love His Prophet (sws). Intelligent man takes that saying, “It is
obligation to me.” If you want to bring all deeds, all actions and
everything to Allah then you have to reach through the Prophet (alayhi
salatu wa salam). It is easy for a man to claim, “I love Allah.” Hmm.
How do you love Allah? How do we love Allah? How do we know Allah? By
word? Or did you put a description to Allah? Did you put a body to
Allah to say, “Allah looks like this and I love Him.” So Allah
(subhana wa ta’ala) is sending His Prophet (sws) to us to show us who
to love saying, “Love that one. He is appearing in front of you.
Learn to love that one and that love will bring you to Me. His love
will bring you to Me.”

But we are the people who have reached the Ahir Zaman, the end of the
times and the Holy Prophet (sws) came and passed fourteen hundred
years ago. So also when we are saying now, “We love the Prophet
(sws)”, eh, if a man has seen the Prophet (sws) in his dream, or he
appeared to him or someway somehow he knows him, then maybe. But if
you didn’t see him, then how are you loving the Prophet (sws)? What do
you know about the Prophet (sws)? What do we know about the Prophet
(sws)? Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) is teaching a lesson to us by showing
that one. When Umar (radiyallahu anh) came once and said, “Ya
Rasulullah, today you look more beautiful than ever before and I am
swearing by Allah that I love you more than anything else except
myself.” Prophet (sws) said to him, “Ya Umar, if you don’t love me
more than yourself too then you have not reached to complete faith.”
And instantly he said, “Ya Rasulullah, I love you more than myself too.”

The first people who came and accepted the Prophet (sws), they didn’t
come accepting the laws and the rules. They came accepting the Prophet
(sws) and they started loving the Prophet (sws). That love moved them,
it dragged them to do what Prophet (sws) was doing and they were
running to do what Prophet (sws) was saying. They showed so many signs
that they were loving the Prophet (sws). They immigrated, they left
Mecca, everyone, with one word of the Prophet (sws). They left. They
immigrated to Medina. They left everything. So many people left their
parents. So many parents left their children. So many left their
belongings. They had everything, they left them behind and they went
with the Prophet (sws) with nothing. That love moved them. If we are
not moving then something is wrong with our love. Something is not
letting us move. Love moves the mountains. If we are not reaching
somewhere, if we are not moving then there is something wrong in
ourselves. Don’t look around. Something is wrong in ourselves. We must
correct that.

The ones that Allah loves and the ones that Allah hates cannot be
together in the same heart. You must remove the ones that Allah
doesn’t love. If you don’t then you are never going to find peace, not
in Dunya and not in Akhirat. No peace to those because there is no
sincerity there. Why are you running after somebody that Allah doesn’t
love? There is some benefit to you. Some benefit. That’s why you are
running. There is some worldly benefit, not heavenly. There is no
heavenly benefit to that. It’s worldly. If you are running after
someone that Allah doesn’t love then that’s enough trouble you are
having to yourself. So many people pray and they do everything but
when you look at them you see that they have no peace. It’s because
they love the wrong ones and the burdens that those ones have is
crushing them. So they are not sincere ones in the Divine Presence. We
must correct, we must look, we much check, we must understand and we
must know who to love. And once we love, we must hold tightly to the
ones that we love.

We love our Sheykh. You must hold onto him tightly. You cannot love
that one who doesn’t love Sheykh Mevlana. If you are loving him then
you have no place in your heart, you must not have any place in your
heart for those who are talking against him, who are saying words
against him. What kind of love are you claiming to have when on the
one side you are saying, “I love Sheykh Mevlana and I will die for
him” (and on the other side you are associating with the ones who are
against him)? Is that love? As Umar (ra) is saying, “I love you more
than anything else Ya Rasulullah, including my life.” Your love must
be like that. Our love must be like that to our Sheykh. If it is not
like that then check yourself because somewhere somehow Sheytan is
ready to fool you. He is going to fool you. You must look and check
yourself every single day saying, “How much love do I have? How much
more am I reaching to?”

It’s not going to come out just like that too. No. Allah (subhana wa
ta’ala) has put that secret into the heart. But if you put the seed
outside and you don’t put it inside the ground then never is it going
to open up. If you put the seed into the ground but you are not
putting water then it’s not going to grow again. So you have to give
water constantly for that seed to grow, to open up, to reach to its
maturity and start giving fruit. The love that we are putting in our
heart towards our master must be like that seed. We must put water
everyday. And putting water is not taking the kind of water that we
drink, because ‘X’ may tell me later, “I am drinking water. Everyday I
am putting one bottle there.” Not that kind of water. You must look,
you must think, you must remember, in everything you do you must know
that he is watching. If you think that way then you are fitting
yourself and slowly things start opening up. Things start growing
because the Rahmat starts raining on you and it starts growing. When
that starts growing and you reach to your maturity station then you
start giving the fruits out. That is the real love that you have
reached to the station where the fruit that comes out from you is the
same fruit which that one is giving. So that is the real love.

Look! The rain is coming down. We are looking and seeing that it’s
coming to the ground, to the dirt area, and on the asphalt ten minutes
later it dries out again. Nothing comes out. But when rain comes down
on the earth and the sun shines then a little bit later you see the
grass growing right away. It’s giving. The grass is never going to
grow in the asphalt, on the roads. So you must turn, till your heart
inside, turn things upside down, throw out the wrong things, the weeds
and everything for the real fruit, for the real tree to grow to give
fruit. If you are not giving fruit then that love is not good again.

So everything is concentrating on that and we must learn how to love
and who to love. Firstly, you must love Allah and His Prophet (sws).
Then for us, (for murids), we must love our Sheykh. Then we must love
those that Allah loves. We must love those who are beloved to Allah.
If we don’t love them then we are missing something again. So claiming
to love Allah and His Prophet (sws) is not complete then and Sheytan
someway, somehow, someday will show you something from other places,
tempting you, showing you something saying, “Oh, it is so great, you
must love this one too.” Then you run and you love somebody that Allah
doesn’t love and you are in trouble. All the things that you do
becomes zero. We must know that before the angel of death reaches to
us inshaAllah ar-Rahman.

Medet Ya Seyyidi Ya Sultanul Awliya, Medet.

Alhamdulillah wa shukr Allah. Astaghfirullah. We are not in the
beginning of this world, oh believers! We came to the end. The
beginning of the world is gone a long time ago. Everything has a
beginning and an end. We are the people of the Ahir Zaman, people who
reached the end of times. Holy Prophet (alayhi salatu wa salam) was
the Prophet of Ahir Zaman. He was sent at the end of times. The
beginning was with Adam (alayhi salam) and the Last Prophet is
Muhammad (alayhi salatu wa salam). There is no other prophet coming.
Holy Prophet (sws) is saying, “I have been sent to this world at a
time that is between Asr and Maghrib.” After you pray Asr, before you
turn left and right the sun has set. It’s finished. So that’s how much
is left to this world. He is saying this fourteen hundred years ago.
We are not in the beginning of the Prophet’s (sws) time too. We are at
the end of that. So we are the nation, we are the people who reached
the end of times. Every activities and every work that we are doing,
we much watch very carefully and we must do very carefully. As those
people who have passed are not coming back, we also have no chance to
come back and fix it, once Azrail comes and takes us. This time that
is given to us, we must use it wisely, we must use it correctly and we
must use it the way that our Lord wants us to use it.

We must live for Allah. We must not live for our ego. Either a man
lives for Allah or he lives for this world. Living for this world is
living for his ego. You have to choose. If you are living for Allah
then the world is going to run after you, the world is going to follow
you. If you are living for the world then every single day the world
is pulling you in saying, “Come, come, come, come closer, come closer”
and when Azrail comes taking you then it swallows and finishes you. If
it finishes you then it’s okay. But the biggest problem starts from
there. When a man lives a heedless life, an irresponsible life and a
life that Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) doesn’t like, doesn’t approve then
the man suffers a lot. We still have that chance to ask forgiveness,
to turn around and to start walking on the Sirat-ul Mustaqim.

When we say that we are living for Allah and we are holding the roads
that are taking us from Dunya to Akhirat then we cannot turn back to
those who leaves Allah. You have to continue on your road. You cannot
stop. You cannot sit around, eat, drink and enjoy with those who leave
Allah and His Prophet (alayhi salatu wa salam). Once you enter this
road there is no turn. If you are turning back then you are in a
bigger trouble then ever before. Once you leave your guide who is
going in the front then even if you find the road to go back to the
Sirat-ul Mustaqim again, you are going to suffer a lot. If you live
100% the laws and orders that Allah has given, (you are keeping the
five times prayer, you are keeping the fasting and you are keeping
everything) still on the Day of Resurrection when man is going to be
raised from the gravesites, they will ask you, “Did you have a guide?
Did you have a Sheykh?” If yes then you don’t need to answer. That
Sheykh is going to come collecting everybody and bringing them to the
Judgment Place. Those who don’t have a Sheykh, as the first punishment
they will stand at their gravesites in the dark for one thousand years.

Live for Allah. Living for Allah is not living for your ego. You have
to leave the wrong characteristics of the ego aside. You have to hold
on tightly to the teachings of Holy Prophet (sws). Otherwise, it’s
only claiming. It’s only for ego in the name of living for Allah. When
asked, “What are you doing”, some say, “Eh, we are trying to live.”
Hmm. The poor people are trying to live. Trying to live? You mean all
the worrying is for only one piece of bread that you are going to eat?
That’s what you are worrying for? Hmph! No faith. When you ask the
ones that have reached, “What are you doing?” They are trying to make
10 to 1,000, 1,000 to 10,000, 10,000 to 1 million, 1 million to 2
million. Living for Dunya. Some say, “Live your life. Enjoy.” Enjoying
this? Do you think that Allah has sent you to this world to enjoy the
dirtiness of the world? To run around inside the sewer and enjoying?
How are you enjoying? This world is a toilet. Allah sent us here to
finish our toilet and to take us back to our Paradise. Can a man be
sitting in the toilet and enjoying? So many today like to sit in the
toilet. Not only in toilets but they make their own houses toilet. You
cannot enter inside from the dirtiness. Hmm. Then you are in trouble.
Big trouble.

You are collecting money. What are you going to do when Azrail comes?
If you are not living for Allah then keep everything. Eh, some people
from the Middle East get sick and they say, “I am not good. We should
go to London. The doctors are better there.” Hmm. “We should go to
America. They have good places and good doctors.” Doctors don’t give
you life. If they had life then they would have given it to
themselves. So many are coming to the western countries to get cured
and they send them back in coffins, in boxes to their countries.
(Sheykh smiles). Live for Allah. Allah is the one who is controlling
everything. Everything is in His Hand. Prophet Sulayman (alayhi salam)
used to sit with his deputies, his wazirs and the scholars, talking
with them and counseling them and Azrail (alayhi salam) used to come,
sit, visit Sulayman (as) in a man’s form and listen to him. One day
Azrail came in a man’s form and there was a scholarly man sitting in
the presence of Sulayman (as). Azrail looked at him very heavily and
his heart started trembling. He thought, “This man is an unusual one.
He put fear in my heart. I cannot stay here.” He came to Sulayman (as)
saying, “Ya Nabi Sulayman (as), please send me to the farthest
distance from here. I cannot look at that man.” Sulayman (as) gave
order to wind saying, “Drop him to India.” From Qudus to India. As
soon as he landed down to India, Azrail appeared in front of him
saying, “Give that life.” Tak, he fell down there. Azrail (as) came
back to the presence of Sulayman (as) and Sulayman (as) said, “Oh
Azrail, why did you look at that man so heavily and so strongly that
he asked me to send him to the farthest distance and I put him down to
India.” He said, “That was it Ya Sulayman. Allah sent me to take his
life in India and I saw him still sitting in your presence. So I had
to put that fear for him to get to a faraway distance. He asked you
and you put him to India. I took his life there.”

So when your time is up, no doctors, no money and nothing is going to
save you. No one. This world, this earth upon which we are walking
arrogantly and stubbornly is holding 124,000 prophets inside. It took
124,000 prophets in it. Walk on earth with respect. This earth is
holding millions of Awliya Allah inside. Think when you are walking.
Maybe you are passing on top of someone. If you are walking with a
wrong attitude, if you have a bad characteristic then no one can fix
you after that. We must look at ourselves and correct ourselves. Allah
(subhana wa ta’ala) has put a guide to us saying, “This is your role
model. Look at that one. And I like every characteristic that I put on
him. You must take it and you must learn it. You must take it, apply
it to your life, and then you reach to Paradise. Otherwise, man is
suffering in Dunya, and then he will suffer in Akhirat. Eating and
drinking is only filling up toilets. Nothing else. And those who are
not living for Allah and filling up toilets are going to be put in
there, in that hole. Look at what the hadith of the Holy Prophet (sws)
is saying. Angels will put them in. Some will pull themselves out and
the other ones will kick them back in there until Judgment Day and
after that there is another punishment waiting for those ones.

Oh believers! Correct yourselves. We are not in the beginning of this
world. We are in the end, at the end of times. We must watch carefully
every action that we are doing, who are we speaking with, who are we
associating with, what are we doing and where are we going. If we are
calling ourselves believers then we cannot go everywhere. With
everyone we cannot go to associate unless we have been given
permission to go and take people out of those holes. There aren’t too
many left in this world to do that job anymore. The majority of the
people are sinking. Don’t go to the wrong ones, don’t associate with
the wrong ones and don’t talk with the wrong ones. Otherwise, their
dirtiness and their wrong attitude is going to pass to you. Allah
(subhana wa ta’ala) is ordering us, “Oh believers! Be with the
Saliheen.” He is not saying to you, “Go and be with the rebellious
ones.” (He is saying,) “Be with the righteous ones.” This is order
from the Holy Quran to the whole mankind. If we take it we will win
and if we leave it then we will lose for ourselves.

Most are doing it already, but as a future reminder Sheykh Efendi highly recommends the fasting of the first ten days of Muharram.

On the tenth day, Ashura, we prepare the delicious desert Aşure in keeping with the Ottoman tradition. The sweet is also known as Noah’s Pudding and is made with dried fruit and beans. The story goes: when Noah’s ship settled on the top of the mountain, the surviving believers gathered the remaining rations and prepared them into Ashuré.
